glasgow gallery of modern art
The Gallery of Modern Art is located in the centre of Glasgow, just off Buchanan Street and close to Central Station.
The gallery opened in 1996 as a showcase for the City's new status as a cultural centre. It is is divided into 4 areas; earth, fire, air and water, each with exhibits exploring a different topic.
The Earth gallery displays works exploring social themes, usually by local artists, and the Fire gallery has interactive installations. The Air gallery is for design exhibits and the Water gallery explores the themes of life and death.
