Tesco to open first UK airport store
31.07.10
Tesco has chosen Glasgow as the location for its first airport store. The retailer will open a Tesco Express store in the domestic arrivals area at the airport later this year, creating up to 20 jobs. Rival M&S already has food stores at a number of UK airports, including Luton.
The new 24-hour store will cater for last-minute travel purchases as well as returning passengers who need to buy groceries before heading home. The range of goods offered will include dairy products, ready meals, bread, sandwiches, snacks and drinks. Prices will be the same as in the hundreds of high street Tesco Express outlets across the UK, which is great news for passengers and staff.
