Airport community fund gives £50,000
31.03.11
Glasgow Airport's community trust has given over £50,000 to a number of local projects. The groups received the grants from the travel hub's Flightpath Fund, which is independently administered and is responsible for allocating the airport’s community funding to local charities, community groups and the voluntary sector.
Funds are awarded to projects focused on education, environment, sport and community
regeneration. Projects being funded this time include a plan to renovate a playground, buy computers for community groups, buy a climbing frame and teach rugby to local school children. The largest grant, for £17,000, was given to the West Regional Scout Council.
