SNP 'didn't think through rail link decision'
30.09.09
Scottish finance minister John Swinney has been accused of failing to carry out a proper assessment of how to save money before making the decision to cancel the Glasgow Airport Rail Link, the Evening Times reports.
Des McNulty, the Labour transport spokesman, said Mr Swinney and his party did not establish that it would be the ‘least damaging option’ before making the decision. His comments came after it emerged that an urgent review has been ordered by the SNP into how to utilise major upgrades to railway infrastructure that were originally to be part of the abandoned project - and have already taken place or been contracted.
