New commercial director appointed
27.07.10
Francois Bourienne has been appointed as the new Commercial Director for Glasgow Airport. He joins from airport retailer Nuance Group after spending four years at the company’s European headquarters in Zurich, and will be responsible for growing all aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue including retail, property and airport parking.
Mr Bourienne said: ‘I think the airport has huge potential. There is a large catchment area and a strong tradition of long haul and leisure flights. I strongly believe that we must target more European city routes and routes that have inbound potential. We want people to start their journey to Scotland at Glasgow Airport. The commercial side of the business also has huge growth potential and my previous experience will prove important during negotiations.’
Glasgow Airport Managing Director Amanda McMillan said: ‘This is a fantastic appointment for us. Francois has a very impressive track record with experience of both strategic and operational roles. He has the drive and energy to succeed in not only expanding our route network, but also the other commercial areas of the business.’
