Airport has busiest day

Around 110,000 passengers will pass through Glasgow Airport this weekend, as holidaymakers begin the busy summer getaway. Friday was the airport's busiest day of the year so far, with around 33,000 passengers, as many of Scotland's schools broke up for the summer holidays. The most popular destinations were Palma, Tenerife, Alicante and Dalaman.
Amanda McMillan, managing director at Glasgow Airport, said: ‘Today is our busiest day of the year so far and this will also be the busiest weekend. It's fantastic to see so many pepole passing through the airport, particularly given the challenges faced by the aviation industry recently.’
