Second electric police bike

Following the successful introduction of a Vectrix electric maxi scooter for active police duty at Glasgow Airport, Strathclyde Police has announced that they have now ordered an additional bike to join the policing forces around the airport.
A police spokesman said that the Vectrix had proved itself to be a reliable method of transport for Strathclyde Police Patrols. The addition of another bike will enable the force to further reduce its carbon footprint without compromising on the highest standard of service to the public.
Alan Tait, Assistant Fleet Manager of the Transport and Logistics Department, Strathclyde Police said. ‘The Vectrix has lived up to expectations. It proves that it is possible operate a low carbon policy in a non response role whilst maintaining the utmost in performance and reliability.’
