Glasgow Airport train station plans submitted
25.03.08
Plans have been submitted to build a train station at Glasgow Airport as part of the £210m rail link. An application to build two platforms close to the main terminal has been lodged with Renfrewshire Council.
Four trains an hour will run between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Central stations once the link is completed in 2011. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, the Council owned company charged with delivering the link, has applied for prior approval for the station to ensure the link can be delivered on time.
It is understood BAA Scotland have agreed to pay for a walkway to take passengers from the station into the airport.
