Glasgow Airport appoints new boss
Glasgow Airport has a new boss to spearhead its bid to become Scotland's airport of choice. Alan Barr has been appointed interim managing director following former MD Stephen Baxter's promotion to look after BAA Scotland's three airports.
A spokesman for airport owner BAA said: 'Alan has 15 years experience in finance and general management, and he is well equipped to take the business forward. He assumes responsibility for Glasgow Airport at a time of continuing growth and investment.'
Barr said: 'This is an important year for Glasgow Airport as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. I am looking forward to the challenge of being at the helm at a time when passenger numbers are at record levels and BAA is investing massively in an effort to make Glasgow a world class gateway for the west of Scotland.'
