SAS announce summer Stockholm flights
New summer flights between Glasgow Airport and Stockholm will be introduced next year by Scandinavian airline SAS. The airline is to operate two weekly return flights to Stockholm, on Fridays and Mondays, starting on April 16 and running until October.
Glasgow Airport already offers flights to Norway and Denmark, and Stockholm is the 11th European capital served by Scotland's biggest city. City tourist chiefs predict the link with the Swedish capital will generate millions of pounds in extra revenue.
Airport boss, Alan Barr, said: 'We are particularly pleased to welcome SAS to Glasgow, an airline with an outstanding international reputation. We expect to welcome about 8000 Swedes a year on the new route. They will be attracted by the city's retail offering, cultural heritage and of course, its close proximity to some of the best golf courses in the world.'
