24.04.10
Icelandair has re-routed its transatlantic flights via Glasgow Airport, due to the closure of Keflavik Airport in Iceland. All of its transatlantic flights originating from the USA will be re-routed via Glasgow; Icelandair will then operate a direct flights on to Copenhagen and Oslo. Flights originating from Europe will also be re-routed to Glasgow; with direct flights from Glasgow to Boston and New York.
Keflavik Airport is expected to be closed for the next 48 hours due to the ash cloud coverage. However, Iceland’s weather and wind direction can change suddenly, allowing for the reopening of the airport and flights, so passengers are asked to keep up to date with the latest information at http://www.icelandairgroup.com/volcano/
