Roadworks warning for passengers
The second phase of roadworks at Braehead will bring delays for motorists, including those heading for Glasgow Airport. Upgrading work began on the M8 at 20:00 last night between junctions 25A Braehead, 26 Hillington and 27 Arkleston and will last for more than a week.
The work by Amey is being carried out to install new safety barriers and resurface part of the carriageway. The westbound carriageway will be resurfaced from Monday October 30 to Wednesday November 1 and there will also be weekend work from November 3 to 6.
Traffic will be reduced to two lanes in both directions during the work and a contraflow will be in operation during the resurfacing. Drivers are being warned to expect delays and leave plenty of time for their journeys.
