Profits up at Glasgow Airport
Scotlands three biggest airports - Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen - all enjoyed improved profitability over the last six months, according to figures from owner BAA.
Glasgow Airport saw operating profit jump by 5.3% to £20 million, on revenues up 5.3% at £44m over the six months to September 30. Passenger numbers fell by 100,000 to 5.1 million
Edinburgh reported operating profit up 11.1% to £20 million, on revenues up 5% at £42m. Passenger numbers were largely unchanged at 4.7 million. Aberdeen achieved a 16.7% jump in profit to £7m on revenues up by 18.8% to £19m. Passengers increased from 1.5 million to 1.7 million.
