Airport picks music showcase winner
Glasgow Airport has announced the winners of its month-long 'Airplay' music festival. Over the last four weeks, twenty bands and solo artists have performed sets live at the airport terminal, entertaining passengers. Dundee based four-piece band Our Future Glory claimed the top prize of £1000. Scott MacDonald from Glasgow was runner up.
The music event, the first of its kind in the UK, was organised to celebrate the city's status as a Unesco City of Music. Broadcaster Jim Gellatly, the host of the festival, said: ‘This was a celebration of new music and a recognition of the young talent emerging in Scotland [even though one of the bands was from Belfast!].’
