Airport car park machines won't accept Scottish notes
20.07.10
Glasgow Airport car park ticket machines will not accept many Scottish notes, the Evening Times reports. A reader who experienced a problem paying with a Clydesdale Bank issued £10 note at the airports' short stay car park told the newspaper: ‘When I spoke to their parking office I was told the machine did not recognise some Scottish notes.’
Parking at the airport is managed by NCP. A spokesman for the parking firm said ticket machines at Glasgow Airport recognised 'selected Scottish bank notes' - those most frequently used - but confirmed that many notes were not recognised (and therefore accepted). A spokesman for the airport said they were not aware that there could be a problem for customers paying for parking with Scottish notes, and said it would be investigated.
