Dubai flight cancelled after plane gets stuck in grass
The daily flight from Glasgow Airport to Dubai was cancelled yesterday after the plane got stuck in mud when it taxied for take off. An airport spokesman said no other flights were affected.
Emirates Airlines said a set of the wheels on the Boeing 777-300ER became stuck after edging two metres off the taxi-way onto soft grass. All 237 passengers were taken off the aircraft and have been rebooked on today's flight. They and were offered a night in an airport hotel.
A spokesman for airline said: 'The Emirates service from Glasgow to Dubai, flight number EK26, has been cancelled following an incident as the aircraft travelled along the taxi-way prior to take off. All passengers on board the aircraft disembarked safely. An investigation would be taking place conducted by the relevant authorities.'
