Roadworks warning
18.07.09
Drivers have been warned about delays during eight weeks of roadworks affecting Scotland's busiest motorway. The £1.2m project to raise and strengthen the Arkleston Bridge, over the M8 east of Glasgow Airport, started yesterday.
During the roadworks, the motorway will be reduced to two narrow lanes in both directions, with a speed limit of 40 mph. The restrictions coincide with the Glasgow Fairs holiday, which traditionally sees large numbers heading for the airport.
