Engine fire emergency
17.06.11
An emergency was declared at Glasgow Airport yesterday morning following reports of smoke coming from the engine of an aircraft. The Loganair plane was taxiing towards the runway before flying from Glasgow to Stornoway, with 30 passengers onboard.
The flight was halted and airport fire engines attended as a routine measure. A spokesman said: ‘Loganair is carrying out an investigation. The passengers boarded a replacement aircraft around two hours later.'
