Airport denies drop of charge reports
17.06.10
Glasgow Airport has refuted reports that it intends to charge a fee for vehicles to drop off passengers rather than using its airport parking. The Scotsman suggested this week that Edinburgh Airport plans to charge £1 to use its drop-off zone, and that Glasgow was considering a similar move.
However a spokesperson for Glasgow Airport rejected the claim, saying: ‘We have just opened a new purpose-built drop-off near the terminal that is free to use for private vehicles and taxis.’
The new, purpose-built drop-off zone was opened on June 8. It is a short walk from international arrivals and check-in and replaced the temporary drop-off zone in use since 2007.
