UEFA cup on display at airport
THE Uefa cup is on display at Glasgow Airport, giving football fans a chance to see one of the world's most sought-after trophies. The cup is on display at Glasgow Airport, the first of several city locations to host it over the next two months, from this morning for the next 9 days.
European football leaders made the draw for the quarter and semi-finals of the competition in Glasgow yesterday and brought the cup with them. The draw and display mark the beginning of the run-up to the final being staged at Hampden Park on May 16.
Glasgow Airport managing director Gordon Dewar said: 'The decision to host the final in Glasgow is a great boost to the city's tourism industry. The team at Glasgow Airport is looking forward to playing its part in ensuring visiting fans get a warm welcome to Glasgow.'
After being on show at the airport for the next 9 days, the cup will be at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and other city venues.
