Jet2 to expand; create 50 new jobs

Jet2 is to add a third plane to its base at Glasgow Airport, creating 50 new jobs. The budget airline will base an extra plane at the airport from next summer to increase capacity on its existing routes and launch flights to new destinations. The new jobs include pilots, cabin crew and ground staff.
In the last year over 250,000 passengers have flown with Jet2 from Glasgow to 16 destinations, including Majorca, Turkey and Cyprus. Steve Heapy, chief commercial officer at Jet2, said: ‘Our plans for 2012 will mean even more passengers have direct access from Glasgow to an increasing number of fantastic destinations.’
