New age traveller sparks terror alert at Glasgow Airport
A holiday jet was grounded at Glasgow Airport yesterday - after passengers mistook a New Age traveller for a terrorist, the Daily Record newspaper reports.
The man boarded a plane bound for the Greek island of Crete covered in mud, wearing orange overalls similar to a Guantanamo Bay terror suspect and without shoes. After complaints from alarmed passengers, he was ordered off the jet and met by police. But 40 minutes later, he was back on board, dressed the same way.
Airport bosses told the newspaper that the passenger was a New Age traveller and was not trying to make a political statement. An airport spokesman added: 'Clearly some passengers felt unsettled. Security staff were satisfied he was fit to board.'
