Big drop in passenger numbers
12.09.09
Glasgow Airport passengers have plunged by more than a million over the last two years. A 13.4% drop last month saw the airport named the worst performing of the 7 owned by BAA.
Since 2007 the airport has lost nearly 1.4m passengers as the recession has taken a bite out of the package holiday market. Aberdeen suffered the second biggest drop, with 9.8% fewer passengers last month. However, Edinburgh has seen its annual passengers numbers creeping back over 9 million, benefiting from the fifth consecutive month of growth.
