New restaurant opens

A new restaurant close to Glasgow Airport has opened. The R34 eatery is named after the first airship to complete a transatlantic crossing in both directions in 1919, which was built on the site.
The R34 opened earlier this week and customers are able to enjoy food prepared under the watchful eye of veteran head chef John Shields. Featuring simple food with a focus on high-quality, local ingredients, the restaurant is within walking distance of the airport and only 15 minutes from the city centre. It offers another option for people staying locally at an airport hotel.
Mr Shields said: ‘We are committed to sourcing organic produce wherever possible to ensure our customers receive the highest quality food. Much of the produce appearing on our menu is sourced from Scottish suppliers, including Highland Beef and Blackface Lamb from Killochries Fold and wild venison from Kenneth Morrison in Wester Ross.’
