BAA's Scottish passengers down 1.7%
11.08.10
BAA's Scottish airports suffered a 1.7% collective drop in passengers last month. Glasgow Airport handled 789,000 passengers - 3.6% fewer than the same month last year. At Aberdeen Airport passengers fell by by 4.1% to 270,000, whilst at Edinburgh passengers increased slightly - by 0.6% to 961,000.
The Scottish figures were in contrast to those for Heathrow, which had its busiest ever month, with a total of 6.7 million passengers passing through the airport, and its busiest ever day. But the other two airports owned and operated by BAA - Stansted and Southampton - both reported drops - of 7.2% and 1.4% respectively.
