Skyhub on track for October opening

The £30m redevelopment project at Glasgow Airport - the 'Skyhub' - has entered a new phase following the completion of the physical structure, and is on track for its October opening. The facility takes its name from the Nasa-approved translucent fibreglass system which builders Balfour Beatty are planning to use in its windows.
The 4000 sq metre extension will transform passengers' experience at the airport when it opens on October 21. The project is the biggest seen by the airport in a generation, introducing a new state-of-the-art security search area in addition to a range of new bars, shops, restaurants and lounges.
Glasgow Airport managing director Gordon Dewar said: ‘With Skyhub, everything is under one roof. No matter where you're travelling, once you've passed through security, you can eat, shop or relax anywhere in the terminal.’
