Wallet stolen at airport security check point
A holidaymaker has told Soctland's Sunday Mail that his wallet was stolen at a security check point at Glasgow airport. The wallet, containing £650, was stolen seconds after he put it through an airport scanner at the check point.
James Paterson was en route to Tenerife with his wife when he emptied his pockets into a tray to go through an X-ray scanner at Glasgow Airport. But his wallet had vanished when he went to retrieve it.
Staff searched James and the passenger in front of him but there was no trace of his money and police were called. He told the newspaper that he was amazed to find there was only one CCTV camera in the area.
James said: 'I couldn't believe it. Security staff told me there was just one camera pointing on the area. Most passengers would be shocked if they knew a wallet could go missing at a security check point. You'd assume it would be full of cameras.'
A police spokesman told the newspaper: 'Inquiries are continuing.'
