A man has been jailed for 4 months after trying to smuggle 1000 diazepam tablets through Glasgow Airport. Liam Cornish, 30, was stopped by customs officers on March 20 after travelling to the airport from Bangkok via Dubai.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard the unemployed plumber from Leeds claimed to have bought the tablets at a pharmacy in Bangkok during a 3 month holiday. He said that the tablets were for his own use and would last him 3 months, but he pleaded guilty in court.
