July passengers high for Glasgow Airport
Glasgow Airport enjoyed a record-breaking July, as more than a million passengers turned their backs on sweltering temperatures at home to travel via the airport, many to long-haul destinations, such as Florida and Dubai.
July, always the airport's busiest month, saw 1,036,550 passengers, helping Glasgow secure its status as Scotland's busiest flights hub. It is the only Scottish airport to handle more than a million passengers in a single month - and it's the third July in a row it has done that.
In the year to July, Glasgow Airport handled 8.8m passengers, a up 0.9% on last year. However, Edinburgh is closing with 8.54m passengers, up 2.3%.
