08.09.11
A woman was arrested at Glasgow Airport yesterday over an incident on a long-haul flight. The 54-year-old was held when the plane, arriving from Toronto, touched down early in the morning and is set to appear in court today.
The female passenger on flight TS-124 is reported to have become abusive 40 minutes before landing. She appeared drunk and wandered around the cabin with a cigarette in her hand, trying to light it.
After landing, the captain ordered all passengers to remain in their seats until police had boarded the plane and taken the woman off. A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: ‘A 54-year-old woman was detained in connection with an assault on board a flight from Canada to Glasgow. She is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.'
