08.01.11
Glasgow Airport is to get £11.2m worth of upgrades this year. Airport owner BAA is spending £5.9m on improving the terminal building, including replacement of the original heating system, an American company will add more restaurants and a bar, and a four year project to improve the aircraft taxi link to the runway, costing £2m, will begin.
Managing director Amanda McMillan said: ‘This investment will ensure that Glasgow Airport continues to provide high quality facilities for passengers and delivers a smooth, efficient operation. After a difficult period for the UK aviation industry, I am confident that we will see a return to growth in 2011. This investment will allow us to deliver an improved service to our passengers and airlines, and make Glasgow Airport a more attractive choice for travellers.’
