Jailed extremist backs airport bombers

A convicted Muslim extremist who threatened a terror attack in Scotland has backed the killing of civilians in a letter from jail, Scotland's Sunday Mail reports. In the letter, Mohammed Atif Siddique said he 'did not disagree' with killing innocent people in the name of Islam and supports the Glasgow Airport suicide bombing.
The 21-year-old former student protested his innocence after he was sentenced to 8 years in jail for a string of terror-related offences. But writing about June's attack by two Iraqi doctors on Glasgow Airport, Siddique said: 'I don't disagree with killing civilians but no one can really say what the true intentions were. Also, put yourself in their place. Britain and America have invaded Iraq. How would you feel? So I understand where they are coming from.'
He also said hero baggage handler John Smeaton did not deserve credit for tackling Kafeel Ahmed and Bilal Abdulla. He said: 'I don't really care about the baggage handler, he is well over praised. If he is such a hero, why not stop bombings in Afghan, Iraq, Kashmir, Chechnya, Palestine, Lebanon - Muslims were burnt alive. He's no hero, that's my view.'
