Motorists warned of M8 roadworks
Motorists heading for Glasgow Airport have been warned of roadworks on the M8 this week. Resurfacing work and bridge improvements will take place at West Ferry, near Bishopton, and also near the airport.
The resurfacing work on the eastbound M8 at St James Interchange, near the airport, starts on Friday, but traffic restrictions will be removed in time for the commuter period on Monday. Work at West Ferry is scheduled to start next Friday and is expected to last for 2 weeks. The project involves bridge repairs, carriageway resurfacing and barrier renewals.
A spokesman Amey's, who are undertaking the work, said: 'While we don't expect the roadworks to cause major delays, we would advise drivers to plan their journeys and leave extra time to reach their destinations, particularly if travelling to or from Glasgow Airport.'
