Fire engines crash at airport
04.12.08
An investigation is under way after two fire engines crashed at Glasgow Airport yesterday, the Evening Times reports. The tenders were damaged, but those on board escaped with cuts and bruises.
Flights were not affected as the engines crashed in to each other some distance from the runway. However, at one point the airport's ‘CAT’ status - a rating that governs the size of planes allowed to land - was reduced at the airport because of the loss of emergency cover. It was quickly restored to its usual status when back-up vehicles and staff were deployed.
