Drug smuggling housewife gets 3 years in jail
A drug-smuggling housewife was jailed for 3 years yesterday after admitting trying to bring £100,000 worth of cannabis into Scotland via Glasgow Airport. Naomi Orgina Goslett, 43, was caught with 20 kilos of the drug concealed in her luggage as she tried to go through customs in June.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard that the housewife had flown in from Dubai, but was caught by alert customs officers. The 43-year-old, from Durban, South Africa, pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle cannabis.
Mrs. Goslett was given a 3 year jail term yesterday, backdated to June 4 this year as she has been remanded in custody since then. A spokesman for Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs welcomed the sentence.
