BAA Scotland accounts reveal growth at Glasgow Airport
The latest accounts for BAA's Scottish airports reveal strong growth at Glasgow Airport, with profits of more than £60m, the Scotsman newspaper reports.
Accounts filed at Companies House this week show a combined pre-tax profit of £60.1m in the year to March 31. Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports also paid £167m dividends to their parent company - £40m from Aberdeen, £66m from Edinburgh and £61m from Glasgow Airport.
Aberdeen Airport was the fastest growing of the 3 Scottish Airports, with an jump in turnover to £34m, a pre-tax profit of £12.5m and passenger numbers growing by almost 10% to 2.9m during the year.
At Edinburgh Airport income grew by around 9% to £77.4m, giving a pre-tax profit of £26.6m. Passenger numbers reached 8.5m. And at Scotland's largest airport, Glasgow, turnover was £82.6m and pre-tax profit of £15.1m. At Glasow Airport passenger numbers rose 2% to 8.8m.
