Icelandair offers Glasgow Airport - USA passengers free whale watching trip
Icelandair is offering the 'ultimate stopover' experience to passengers taking its transatlantic flights from Glasgow Airport to the USA - a whale spotting excursion, free of charge.
Icelandair already offers passengers on a same-day transfer in Iceland the opportunity to relax in the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa at no extra cost. But for this July and August Icelandair will expand the stopover experience and offer a unique ocean-going whale spotting excursion off the coast of Iceland.
Within 60 minutes of landing in Iceland, transfer passengers will be sailing in waters renowned for sightings of minke, humpback, killer and fin whales, in addition to porpoises and white beaked dolphins.
Icelandair is working with Moby Dick Whale Watching, which has achieved a 98% successful 'spot' rate over the past eleven years of operation. After the excursion, passengers are taken back to the airport in plenty of time for their ongoing flight to the USA.
Icelandair flies from Glasgow Airport to the USA from £316 return including taxes. For more information telephone 0870 787 4020 or visit www.icelandair.co.uk.
