Airport arson suspect extradited

An Albanian man has been extradited from Ireland to Scotland in connection with a fire on a plane at Glasgow Airport in January 2005. Safet Bukoshi, 34, spent last night in a high-security police cell in Paisley after being extradited on Friday.
The bmi 49 seater plane was set alight in the early hours after an intruder breached security and got onto a runway. No-one was injured and the empty twin-engine Embraer 145 jet suffered minor damage, but major security concerns were raised after Albanian-born Mr. Bukoshi had allegedly used a plank of wood to scale the perimeter fence and walked past the airport security office on his way to the plane.
Strathclyde Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested and is due to appear in court on Monday charged with the attack on a plane at Glasgow Airport 3 years ago.
