A man who is alleged to have endangered a holiday flight to Turkey, which diverted back to Glasgow Airport shortly after take-off over the weekend, appeared in court yesterday.
The Excel Airways flight was taking 188 holidaymakers to Dalaman in south-west Turkey on Saturday when James McLaughlan, 28, of Bannockburn, Stirlingshire, who is alleged to have been drunk, punched seats and head-butted windows. The case, at Paisley Sheriff Court, was continued and Mr McLaughlan was granted bail.
All 187 other passengers were put up in an airport hotel overnight and flew out on Sunday night, missing one day of their holiday.
