Air Scotland axes Glasgow Airport - Paris flights
Air Scotland has dropped its flights between Glasgow Airport and Paris and all of its flights from Edinburgh for its summer schedule. Bosses explained new owners want to expand operations in England.
The Glasgow-based firm has unveiled a summer routes, a far cry from its early ambitions to become Scotland's national airline. The airline will now operate just five flights a week from Scotland this summer, all from Glasgow Airport to Spain and Greece.
Commercial manager Raymond McMillan said: 'Our new owners have decided to expand operations from Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham.'
The new schedule leaves Glasgow without a direct link to Paris and speculation is mounting about a replacement. Donald Morrison, Glasgow Airport spokesman, said: 'We think a direct link to Paris would be good for business and tourism and we're discussing it with airlines.'
